The Passing of Charlotte Moran
EPYSA Executive Director

It is with great sadness that I must alert the soccer world of the passing of one of the greatest champions of our sport and finest people I have been blessed to know.  Charlotte Moran, after heroically fighting a battle with pancreatic cancer over the last 2 years, passed last night, May 18, 2009, in the arms of her loving family and friends.

We will provide detail of arrangements and donations when that information is available.

Please take a moment and give your thoughts and prayers to Charlotte and her family.

U11 and U12 Teams in 2008-09
Additional Classification

U11 and U12 Teams in 2007-09

The LANCO board approved a change in the U11 divisions beginning with the Fall 2007-08 season.  In addition to the 11 v 11 teams that are already in existence and which have up to 18 players per team, it was approved to offer an additional classification of 8 v 8 teams which will have up to 14 players and will play on small sided fields.  Clubs can enter teams in one or the other, or both classifications.  This will give the clubs the opportunity with limited number of players that may want more competition to enter team(s) into a travel league.  Some clubs may want to have team(s) in each classification if they have more than 18 players and do not have enough for an additional full size team(s).  The progression would be to do the same with the U12 teams in 2008-09 season.

The U12 teams are EPYSA State Cup qualified and the state winner will go to the Region I Championships held on July 4th week each year.  In 2008 there were only two teams in the division and they both went to Region I Championships.

Please realize this when you are having try outs for your traveling teams for this Fall.
